About Hanna

The story of Hanna started with the endeavours of Dr. Elias Hanna. Elias was a renowned cardiac surgeon. Later in life, he shifted to the countryside with his family to get a break from the hectic city life. He purchased and acquired 12 acres of land in the historic Sonoma city. Elias taught his children how to grow vegetables and fruits, raise chickens, and produce wine. He trained them to move with the patterns and rhythms set by nature. It led to the family’s pastime turning into their business. It, in turn, resulted in the establishment of Hanna Winery in 1985.

Elia’s daughter, Christine Hanna, took over managing the family business and winery in 1991. She implemented various strategic expansions and modern touches to the wine estate, allowing Hanna to become one of the most iconic wineries in the entire region of Sonoma. It remains globally renowned today. The winery remains known for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc.

The vineyards and parcels owned by Hanna expand and extend over 250 acres. They remain spread across five premier plots, producing more than 50,000 cases of wines per year. The winery operates and functions with devotion to the diversity and uniqueness of the region’s terroirs, remaining true to the Sonoma style and tradition. Under Christine’s guidance and leadership, Hanna Winery works while upholding its heritage. Nevertheless, the wine estate also takes risks and challenges to improve the existing processes and optimise the working.

Hanna implements and incorporates a sustainable approach to their vinification, cultivation, and viticultural processes. It allows the winery to retain its terroirs and parcels’ natural characteristics and qualities. It, in turn, enables the wines produced by Hanna to possess and deliver the land’s attributes. On top of that, the drinks have superior flavour, aroma, and texture.
