La Bastide Blanche

About La Bastide Blanche

La Bastide Blanche is a renowned family-owned estate located in the appellation of Bandol, in Provence, southern France. Established in the early 1970s, the estate was acquired by the Bronzo family in 1972, who have since become one of the key producers shaping the reputation of Bandol wines. The domaine lies between the villages of Le Castellet and La Cadière-d’Azur, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Its vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate moderated by sea breezes and abundant sunshine, along with the limestone and clay soils that define the region.

La Bastide Blanche farms around 40 hectares of vines, cultivated organically, with minimal intervention to preserve the natural character of the terroir. The estate’s reputation rests primarily on its Bandol Rouge, a powerful yet refined wine dominated by Mourvèdre, often blended with Grenache and Cinsault. It is known for its structure, depth, and impressive ageing potential. The Bandol Rosé, fresh and delicately spicy, represents the elegance of Provence, while the Bandol Blanc, made from Clairette, Ugni Blanc, and Rolle (Vermentino), offers aromatic complexity and mineral finesse.

Balancing tradition with precision, La Bastide Blanche remains a benchmark for authentic Bandol wines, expressing both the rugged Provençal landscape and the family’s meticulous craftsmanship.
