Named after the dense fog that rolls inland from the Pacific along the Sonoma Coast, Marine Layer takes a hands-on, small-lot approach to winemaking in one of California’s most demanding yet rewarding viticultural regions.

Cool temperatures, strong coastal winds and constant fog create a long, slow growing season, allowing the grapes to develop full flavour and phenolic ripeness while retaining freshness and balance.

The wines are defined by precision, elegance and site expression, highlighting the distinctive character of Sonoma’s mosaic of single vineyards from which they are sourced. Native yeast fermentations, selective whole-cluster use and restrained oak ageing preserve purity and terroir, resulting in wines of remarkable finesse, complexity and energy.
