About Marqués de Cáceres

Marqués de Cáceres is one of Rioja’s most internationally recognized wineries, known for its modern approach to traditional Spanish winemaking. The estate was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner, who had previously worked in the wine trade in France before returning to his native Spain. His vision was to bring Bordeaux techniques to Rioja, creating wines with greater finesse, consistency, and international appeal. Today, the winery remains a family-owned business, led by Cristina Forner, who continues her father’s legacy while expanding its global presence.

Located in Cenicero, at the heart of Rioja Alta, Marqués de Cáceres sources grapes from more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards, many tended by long-term partner growers. The region’s varied soils and climate provide an excellent foundation for producing structured, age-worthy reds as well as fresh, aromatic whites and rosés. The range includes Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva Rioja wines, alongside more innovative expressions like Gaudium, Satinela, and a growing collection of Rueda whites such as Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc.

Over the past five decades, Marqués de Cáceres has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and style. Its wines are now enjoyed in over 120 countries, representing a benchmark for modern Rioja on the world stage.
