Product Notes

Marqués de Murrieta Rioja Reserva Finca Ygay is a Spanish red wine produced by one of the oldest and most respected wineries in Rioja, Spain. The wine is made from a blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo, and Graciano grapes, which are hand-picked and sorted before being fermented in stainless steel vats. This wine is then aged for 20 months in oak barrels to develop its complex and rich flavors. Marqués de Murrieta Rioja Reserva Finca Ygay has a deep ruby color with aromas of ripe fruit, spices, and vanilla on the nose. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and a long, elegant finish. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses.

About the Winery

Marqués de Murrieta

The origin and story of Marqués de Murrieta remain closely linked with the renowned Spanish wine region of Rioja. In 1852, Don Luciano Murrieta prepared the first Rioja wine using the techniques and skills he learned and acquired in Bordeaux. He did so with the intention and aim of sustaining the unique and traditional winemaking practice and method over a significant time. Don Luciano aspired to create superior and excellent wines with outstanding ageing potential. Furthermore, he wished to export the drinks outside Spain and increase their fame on the global market. It led to the formation or creation of the foundation of the reputed winery, Marqués de Murrieta.
