Ottella

Ottella is a family-owned estate in the Lugana DOC, south of Lake Garda, straddling the border of Veneto and Lombardy. The Montresor family has farmed here for generations, with documented wine production dating back to the early 20th century. A pivotal figure was Lodovico Montresor, who helped establish the Lugana DOC in 1967 and positioned Ottella among its leading quality producers. Today the winery is run by brothers Francesco and Michele Montresor, combining tradition with a contemporary, design-focused approach.

Ottella cultivates around 90 hectares of vineyards, planted predominantly to Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana), the signature grape of Lugana. The estate is known for its refined, mineral-driven Lugana wines, ranging from fresh, stainless-steel expressions to single-vineyard and Riserva bottlings with extended ageing. The portfolio also includes sparkling wines and limited reds, all shaped by the area’s glacial soils and the tempering influence of Lake Garda’s mild climate.
