Parker Estate

Founded in 1985 by John and Faye Parker, Parker Estate has established itself as one of the leading producers in Australia’s renowned Coonawarra wine region. The winery was created with a clear vision to craft premium Cabernet Sauvignon capable of rivaling the great wines of Bordeaux. John Parker carefully selected vineyard land at the southern end of Coonawarra’s famous terra rossa strip, planting the estate with high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon vines sourced from distinguished old clonal material.

Located near the historic township of Penola in South Australia, Parker Estate benefits from the region’s cool maritime climate and distinctive terra rossa soils over limestone, conditions that are considered ideal for producing elegant, structured and age-worthy wines. While Cabernet Sauvignon remains the cornerstone of the estate, the vineyards also include smaller plantings of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Chardonnay.

The winery rapidly gained an international reputation for its flagship First Growth Cabernet Sauvignon, released only in exceptional vintages and regarded as one of Coonawarra’s iconic wines. Over the years Parker Estate has received widespread critical acclaim and numerous industry accolades for its consistent quality and regional expression. Today the estate remains family owned under the Hesketh family and continues its philosophy of meticulous vineyard management and uncompromising winemaking standards.
