Tasting Note

An amazingly complex wine. Pineapple and pear lead the aromas with hints of mint. The palate shows richness and depth, with creamy notes and pistachio nuts, balanced with an amazing fresh streak of acidity. An outstanding example of what the Furmint grape can achieve as a dry wine.

Product Notes

Sauska Furmint Birsalmás is a delicious white wine originating from the Tokaj wine-growing region in Hungary. It is made from the Furmint grape variety, renowned for producing complex and age-worthy wines. The grapes are picked from the Birsalmás vineyard, which sits on volcanic soils and benefits from a warm climate, resulting in a wine with a rich and zesty character. On the nose, notes of ripe peach, lime and orange blossom combine with hints of honey and minerality. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced, with a refreshing acidity and a long, smooth finish. This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, from light salads to rich seafood and creamy cheeses.
