About Sonoma-Cutrer

Sonoma-Cutrer combines Californian innovation with Burgundian winemaking philosophy to capture the distinctive character of Sonoma County’s cool-climate, coastal terroirs. Founded in 1973, with its first wines released in 1981, the winery has grown into one of the United States’ leading premium Chardonnay producers. Today, Sonoma-Cutrer farms six estate vineyards spanning 1,121 acres across the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast, crafting wines defined by precision, balance and a strong sense of place.

Led by Director of Winemaking Cara Morrison, Sonoma-Cutrer maintains a long-standing commitment to sustainability and responsible vineyard management. All estate vineyards are certified by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, with practices focused on water conservation, recycled irrigation systems, natural pest management and the promotion of biodiversity throughout the vineyards. Recycling, composting and renewable farming initiatives further reinforce the winery’s environmental philosophy.

The portfolio includes six core wholesale wines, highlighted by four acclaimed Chardonnays — Sonoma Coast, The Cutrer, Les Pierres and Russian River Ranches — alongside a Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and a Rosé of Pinot Noir.
