Tasting Note

Vibrant ruby in colour. This displays lifted aromas of red berry fruit, white pepper and cardamom on the nose. On the palate, juicy acidity and bright fruit are tempered by subtle spice notes. An elegant and restrained style of Grenache with silky texture and supple tannins.

Product Notes

Spice Route Swartland Grenache is a delightful wine that showcases the unique blend of Grenache grapes grown in the Swartland region of South Africa. This beautifully crafted wine is a deep ruby color with a spicy nose that features notes of clove, cinnamon, and black pepper mingled with fresh blackberry and cherry aromas. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a silky texture and distinctive flavors of red cherry, black raspberry, and hints of earthy undertones. The wine is well-balanced with fine tannins and a lengthy finish that leaves a pleasant aftertaste on the palate. A perfect wine for pairing with grilled meats or strong cheeses, Spice Route Swartland Grenache is an excellent choice for wine lovers looking for something unique and flavorful.

About the Winery

Spice Route

The Spice Route Winery has been named thus because it was established by the Spice Boys in 1997 in South Africa. The winery was a result of many brains in the South African wine market namely Charles Black from Fairview, John Platter (a journalist by profession), Jabulani Ntshangase from Spier and Gyles Webb from Thelema.
