Tasting Note

The bouquet is reminiscent of grapefruit, pineapple, orange blossom, and slate. The taste of this Auslese, which finishes with a fine raisin aroma, is very dense, creamy, and tropical. The complexity is balanced by a lively, weightless finish. The wine’s ripe acidity presents itself as invigorating and fresh in order to achieve a radiant brilliance. This Auslese is already enjoyable at a young age but shows its full potential with more maturity (10+ years).

Product Notes

Zilliken Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese is one of the finest German Rieslings showcasing the complex flavors of Saarburger Rausch vineyard. The wine is made from mature Riesling grapes that are picked at the precise moment of ripeness to attain the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. This Auslese is a pale gold wine with floral, peach, and apricot aromas, followed by honey and mineral notes. The palate is well-structured with a luscious sweetness, intertwined with a vibrant acidity. The sweetness is exceptionally well balanced, never overwhelming the wine's drinkability. Overall, Zilliken Saarburger Rausch Riesling Auslese is a perfect reflection of the mastery of the Zilliken winery.

About the Winery

Zilliken

The history of Zilliken begins with the traces and roots of the Zilliken family and continues to do so to date. The family’s vine-growing and wine-making past goes back as early as 1742. It starts with the early generations working selflessly in Ockfen and Saarburg.
