Tasting Note

This perfumed, gently foaming wine breathes out white petals, ripe peaches and spiced pears and balances the sweet flavours of honey with smart acidity.

Product Notes

Fontanafredda Moncucco is a prestigious wine produced in the Piemonte region of Italy. Nestled in the heart of the Langhe Hills, the Fontanafredda estate has been producing some of Italy's finest wines for over 160 years. The Moncucco vineyard, where this wine is made, covers 120 acres and is situated on the rolling hillsides of Serralunga d'Alba. This wine is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the vineyard and aged for up to 24 months in oak casks to give it its unique flavor profile. Fontanafredda Moncucco is a full-bodied, complex wine with hints of dark fruit and a silky-smooth finish. It pairs well with hearty Italian dishes like pasta bolognese and risotto alla Milanese.

About the Winery

Fontanafredda

If there is one Italian wine label with a rich, royal history, it has got to be Fontanafredda. Started by the first King of Italy in 1858, Fontanafredda, is one of the richest and authentic Italian wine labels today. Vittorio Emanuele II purchased the Fontanafredda wine estate, and dedicated the same to his children, who were the Count of Fontanafredda and Mirafore. Within 8 years of buying the estate, the King bought his first Barola vineyard.
