About Foxglove

Foxglove is a winery located in The United States of America that serves as the secondary label of the renowned Varner Wine. Varner started as a partnership and venture of two brothers, Jim and Bob Varner.

The winery produces terroir-driven and vineyard-designate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. They come from the counties of Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara. The red wines and Chardonnay developed from the Central Coast get sold under the Foxglove label of the Varner Estate.

The story of Varner Wine started in 1980 when the two brothers began to plant grapevines at the vineyard located within their estate. However, it was in 1996 that the two started to sell the produced wines commercially. The portfolio of the winery and its estate consists of four sets each of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. They remain planted in specific and distinct blocks on the 5.7-hectare land that the Varner brothers own.

The Chardonnays sold under the Foxglove label bring with them immense fame and value. They are always one of the most renowned and demanded among their peer. The wine carries a distinctive richness and savoury taste of the fruit from which it got developed. On top of that, the drink delivers the tropical notes and features of the Central Coast of California.

The vineyards owned by Varner Wines follow an organic system and practice of viticulture. The implemented processes primarily comprise dry farming and rooting by hand. The vinification steps are kept undemanding and straightforward. Nonetheless, the produced wines do not fail to express the difference and disparities among the terroirs of each block.

The harvest season demands the hand-picking of the matured grapes. Additionally, Varner Wines compels and ensure minimal human contact and intervention during all fermentation. It helps to sustain the natural qualities of all the involved elements.
