The history of the oldest wine brand of South Africa dates back to as early as 1685, when the Groot Constantia grounds were first given to the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope. After a series of fire accidents sand restoration work, this place is now part of the South African Cultural History Museum. In the early 1880s, the Constantia dessert wine produced here was famous all over the world. In the year 2003, the Groot Constantia Estate started production of this famous wine and named it Grand Constance, much to the pleasure of all wine lovers.
