Tasting Note

White Muscat is complemented by with a small percentage of red Muscat, giving a beautiful amber colour. This legendary sweet wine delivers opulent aromas of caramel, toffee and a hint of Turkish Delight. The delicious notes of caramel and toffee follow through onto the palate with a hint of bitter almonds, beautifully balanced by a natural acidity leaving a very moreish finish.

Product Notes

Groot Constantia Grand Constance is a famous South African sweet wine, renowned for its rich history and exquisite taste. It is made from a blend of red and white Muscat grapes, which is then aged in oak barrels for several years. The result is a wine that is redolent of dried apricot, honey and caramel, with a hint of spicy cinnamon on the finish. Grand Constance is a wine with a pedigree; it was served at Napoleon Bonaparte's table and later became the drink of choice for Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. Today, Groot Constantia continues to produce this iconic wine, which remains a must-try for any wine enthusiast.

About the Winery

Groot Constantia

If you are looking for a wine with a grand history and tradition, look no further than the South African wine brand of Groot Constantia. The history of the oldest wine brand of South Africa dates back to as early as 1685, when the Groot Constantia grounds were first given to the Governor of the Cape of Good Hope. In the years after that, the ownership of these vineyards kept changing.
