Tasting Note

The intensely aromatic nose is full of red berry, spice and heathland character. The intense palate shows succulent mixed berries, charcuterie and some savoury notes. The grippy tannins give structure and texture to the wine.

Product Notes

Leeu Passant Old Vines `Lötter` Franschhoek Cinsault is a premium wine made from old vines in South Africa's Franschhoek region. It is a single vineyard Cinsault that reflects the history and terroir of the area. The wine has a complex aroma with notes of red fruit, black pepper, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a soft tannin structure and a long, elegant finish. This wine is a great representation of South African winemaking at its best. It pairs well with hearty meats and rich sauces, as well as savory vegetarian dishes. It is a must-try for any wine connoisseur.

About the Winery

Leeu Passant

The Mullineux family, quite well known in the South African wine market, set up their label, Mullineux Family Wines, in 2007. Chris and Andrea Mullineux managed this estate from one of the wine-rich regions of South Africa, Swartland. For quite some time, the couple was trying to use the potential of wines from the regions outside Swartland for their label. The search ended in 2013.
