Tasting Note

An elegant and intense Barbera, bursting with notes of ripe cherry and redcurrant, layered with a touch of spice. Harmonious, rounded and beautifully balanced through to a lovely savoury finish.

Product Notes

Michele Chiarlo Le Orme Barbera d'Asti DOCG is a premium red wine from the Piedmont region of Italy. This wine is made primarily with Barbera grapes grown in vineyards located in the Asti area within the DOCG appellation. The wine is fermented and aged for 12 months in oak barrels, giving it a rich and complex character. On the nose, it has intense aromas of ripe red fruit, spices, and vanilla, which lead to a full-bodied palate with a good balance of acidity and tannins. This wine is ideal to pair with traditional Italian dishes like pasta, pizza, and roasted meat. It can be enjoyed now or cellared for up to 5 years.

About the Winery

Michele Chiarlo

Michele Chiarlo had a passion for winemaking right from a young age, as he, along with his father, realised the huge wine-producing potential of the Piedmont Hills in Italy. He began his own brand in the year 1956 when he was still in his 20s. He aimed to make the best and most respected crus in the entire Piedmont region. His dream came true, when the first cru, released in 1958, impressed everyone who tasted it.
