Tasting Note

Intense ruby red. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit: blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and plum. Notes of eucalyptus and rosemary, hints of white pepper and roasted coffee. On the palate, it is balanced with excellent freshness, present but well-integrated tannins. Intense and full-bodied with a very long finish reminiscent of blueberry and menthol notes.

Product Notes

Querciabella Palafreno Toscana is a high-end Tuscan red wine from the prestigious winery of Querciabella. This wine is made from 100% Merlot grapes, carefully selected from the best vineyards in the Maremma region of Tuscany. Palafreno Toscana is aged for 18 months in oak barrels, which adds a rich complexity and depth to its flavor profile.

The wine’s aroma is intense and complex, with notes of black cherries, plums, and blackcurrants. Its taste is full-bodied and velvety, with hints of chocolate, tobacco, and spices. The tannins are silky and well-integrated, providing a robust structure.

Querciabella Palafreno Toscana is a top-quality wine that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with hearty meat dishes such as steak, roast lamb, or game.

About the Winery

Querciabella

The history and story of Querciabella began in 1974 when wine lover and industrial entrepreneur, Giuseppe (Pepito) Castiglioni, purchased a single hectare of land on a hillside in Tuscany. He poured all his dreams and aspirations into the plot, expanding it significantly and increasing its fame. Giuseppe wishes to produce rich and elegant wines from grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Burgundy, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc, and Bordeaux. It was what set the basis for the establishment and growth of Querciabella.
