Tasting Notes

The wine has a very nice ruby colour with at first a restrained bouquet that opens up after few minutes. Aromas of ripe fruits and spices are supported by nice and subtle oak notes. The mouth is tight, lively and at the same time mellow. On the palate the tannins are well integrated, with a nice structure, displaying a very interesting minerality typical of the Résonance Vineyard soil.

About the Winery

Résonance

Willamette Valley-based Résonance Winery is a sustainable winery established in 2013 by Jacques Lardière. He had a long-life experience with an accent for environmental protection and ecology.

In 2013, Résonance Winery was created by Jacques Lardière a well-known winemaker from Burgundy in France. Lardière enjoyed Pinot Noir and fell in love with Willamette Valley's climate and soil which were suitable for Pinot Noir.
It belonged to Maison Louis Jadot, one of the famous wineries in Burgundy; however, in 2016, the owners of Domaine Drouhin Oregon bought it. The ownership might have changed, but the winery remains genuine towards environmental sustainability and production of premium Pinot Noir.

The vineyards belong to Résonance Winery and are situated in the Yamhill-Carlton American Viticultural Area (AVA) and the Dundee Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley. They are suitable for growing Pinot Noir grapes. The winery commits itself to the use of sustainable agricultural practices and produce quality grapes.
Résonance Winery's Pinot Noir has been distinguished as a high-end product due to its refinement, rich flavors of black current, and forest floor notes. Every vintage is specifically designed to highlight the distinctiveness of the Willamette Valley soil type.

Winemaking at Résonance Winery is done sustainably using several eco-friendly methods. Winemakers produce their wines using principles that are certified by the Oregon Certified Sustainable Wine (OCSW) program. Cover cropping promotes soil health and minimises erosion, while integrated pest management is carried out to cut down on excessive use of pesticides. Similar to Resonance Winery, this facility depends on the natural flow of wine throughout the process to reduce the use of pumps and therefore save power.

Résonance Winery sources its grapes from three vineyards in the Willamette Valley: Résonnace Vineyard, a Decouverte Vineyard, and Découverte Vineyard East. Yamhill-Carlton AVA has 20 acres of the Résonance Vineyard. Deco uverte Vineyard is located in the Yamhill-Carlton, AVA, and has about 20 acres of land. Deco uverte Vineyard East is in the Dundee Hills AVA with twelve acres. All of the winery's vineyards are situated on sites with drainage soils and an ideal climate for growing Pinot Noir.

Résonance Winery has a good story and is dedicated to sustainability. Right from its initial owners – Jacques Lardière to the present-day owners, it has ensured in its mission that the Pinot Noir wine grapes are of the highest quality and with little effect on the environment. Resonance Winery has three vineyards that are situated in excellent Pinot Noir growing locations, and therefore it can be expected that will continue making fine wines throughout the years.
