Product Notes

Spice Route Swartland Mourvèdre is a red wine that originates from the Swartland region of South Africa. This wine is made from the Mourvèdre grape variety, which is known for its dense and robust flavor profile. This wine is characterized by its rich, dark fruit flavors, including black cherry, black currant, and plum. This wine also exhibits notes of spice, including black pepper and clove, hence its name. The tannins are firm yet velvety, giving the wine a long and smooth finish. Spice Route Swartland Mourvèdre is an excellent pairing for hearty meals such as roasted lamb or beef stew.

About the Winery

Spice Route

The Spice Route Winery has been named thus because it was established by the Spice Boys in 1997 in South Africa. The winery was a result of many brains in the South African wine market namely Charles Black from Fairview, John Platter (a journalist by profession), Jabulani Ntshangase from Spier and Gyles Webb from Thelema.
