Tasting Note

Deep red in colour with violet hues. The nose presents notes of fresh red fruit like raspberries, intermingled with hints of white pepper and herbal notes, along with soft spice. In the mouth, this is a very elegant wine with firm structure and pronounced, chalky tannins, fresh acidity and it is well-balanced and long. This Carménère reflects Apalta’s higher-elevation vineyards and is atypical of Chilean Carménère because its origin in a high-altitude mountain vineyard has made it a nervous wine with great tension in the mouth. This is definitely a Carménère worth cellaring.

Product Notes

Ventisquero Obliqua is a premium red wine from Chile that is highly appreciated by wine connoisseurs all over the world. This wine is produced using hand-picked grapes from select vineyards in the Colchagua region, which is known for its ideal grape-growing conditions, including hot days and cool nights. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 18-20 months, resulting in a complex and robust flavor. The Ventisquero Obliqua boasts an aroma of black cherry, chocolate, plum and vanilla, which is followed by a rich and full-bodied taste that includes notes of black pepper, tobacco, and dark fruit. The wine has a smooth and long-lasting finish, which makes it an ideal pairing for hearty meats, such as beef or lamb, or rich cheese platters.
