Tasting Note

This Shiraz is deep purple in colour with a crimson rim. Aromas of black fruit, mocha and spice fill the nose, with enticing notes of vanilla from oak ageing. The palate is rich and full bodied, brimming with blueberry and violet flavours, demonstrating a cool vintage but still retaining fruit-ripeness and intensity. The oak is seamlessly integrated and the tannins smooth.

It is made from grapes that are carefully sourced from select vineyards, and aged in French and American oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months. The nose is filled with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and chocolate, with a hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate, it is robust and intense with flavors of dark fruit, plum, and a touch of smokiness. The tannins are bold but well-balanced with a long and satisfying finish. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for years to come.

About the Winery

Peter Lehmann

Peter Lehmann is an Australia-based wine company in the Barossa Village. Lehmann started this company in 1979 after leaving his previous wine-making job of over two decades. He put his winemaking expertise to good use, when he started his company based on trust and a great relationship with the grape growers of the Barossa Village. In one year, this winery grew to great extents to produce its first ever vintage wine.
