Tasting Note

The Ruchots are mineral dense, powerful and complex, the very specific situation on a small slope depression surrounded by wall created a worm micro climate. Those wines have an incredible aging potential. After a decade, the wine delivers truffle aromas.

Product Notes

Domaine Arlaud Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 'Les Ruchots' is a delicate Pinot Noir wine characterized by its beautiful complexity and earthiness. The vineyard is located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, nestled in the middle of the Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny appellations. The wine showcases a light ruby color with a powerful and seductive bouquet, revealing aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, violet, and spices. On the palate, it is smooth and refined, with an excellent balance between the fruit and its tannins. The wine has a long, savory finish, which lingers with subtle notes of oak and a slight mineral aftertaste. This highly-rated wine is a true gem of Burgundy and is perfect for aging.

About the Winery

Domaine Arlaud

Domaine Arlaud is a renowned French winery that began with Renée Amiot and Joseph Arlaud’s marriage in 1942. The bride was a woman with deep familial roots in the wine culture of the Burgundians. Her dowry made it possible for the couple to purchase vineyards of high quality. In 1966, they acquired a historical building in Nuits Saint Georges that dates back to the 14th century. They used it to age the wines they produced. This cellar gets displayed via their wine labels.
