Tasting Note

With its unique spicy notes, the wine is always the roundest, the fruitiest and the most open of the range. Silky on the palate, with a kind of nervous, acidic and tense finish.

Product Notes

Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Angles is a premium red wine that is famed for its depth and complexity. This wine is produced from Pinot Noir grapes that are grown on a single vineyard located in Burgundy's Cote d'Or region. The wine has a deep ruby color and a beautiful aroma of ripe red fruit, floral notes, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a velvety texture and firm tannins. The wine evolves into layers of flavors that include black cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, and some oak. It has a long finish that leaves a pleasant aftertaste. This wine pairs well with red meat, game, and aged cheese.

About the Winery

Domaine Nicolas Rossignol

Nicolas Rossignol, the fifth-generation family member, currently makes authentic and stylish French wines from his family’s estate, Rossignol-Jeanniard. It was in 1997 that Nicolas set up his own estate, covering 3 hectares. This estate covered the villages of Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, Aloxe-Corton and Pernand Vergelesses. After a series of expansions, this estate has grown to over 16 hectares today.
