Tasting Note

This single vineyard Muscadet has an amazing, almost exotic nose of acacia-blossom and lime-flower and fills the palate with layer upon layer of 'bread-and-butter' fruit. The yeasty sourdough smokiness lingers hauntingly and the length would grace a premier cru Burgundy.

Product Notes

Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin Excelsior is a beautifully balanced and masterfully crafted wine that captures the essence of the Loire region in France. The wine is made from the finest Melon de Bourgogne grapes grown in the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality. The wine is aged for several months on its lees, giving it a smooth texture with a beautifully complex flavor profile. The nose is filled with aromas of white flowers, citrus, and flint, while the palate is balanced with a bright minerality, ripe citrus fruits, and hints of salinity. The wine is the perfect pairing for seafood and shellfish or as a refreshing aperitif. It is a true gem from one of France's most renowned wineries, Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin.

About the Winery

Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin

The beautiful love story of Pierre Luneau and Monique Papin led to the establishment of the Domaine Pierre Luneau Papin Estate in the 1990s. Both of them were from a family of winegrowers; therefore, their passion for winemaking united them. While Pierre belonged to a wine-producing family in the town of Landreau, Monique belonged to a winemaking family in the Chapelle-Heulin town.
