Tasting Note

With an outstanding track record of awards and accolades, the Keltern Vineyard has truly established itself as one of New Zealand's premier sites for Chardonnay. Displaying a brilliant straw and lime tinted hue in the glass, the nose offers a fragrant and complex medley of white nectarine and subtle complexing sulphides, complemented by underlying notes of flint and toast. A sleek, tightly woven palate gradually unfolds, leading to a finish with genuine length and class.

Product Notes

Villa Maria Keltern Chardonnay Hawkes Bay is a premium New Zealand white wine, known for its elegance and complexity. The grapes are sourced from the Keltern Vineyard in Hawkes Bay, which exhibits a cooler climate that allows for a longer ripening period and greater flavour development. Upon harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and undergo a controlled fermentation in new French oak barrels, resulting in a rich and creamy texture with notes of toasted oak and vanilla. The wine has a bright and vibrant palate with flavours of citrus, peach, and a subtle hint of minerality, leading to a long and refreshing finish. It is an excellent choice to pair with grilled seafood or creamy pasta dishes.

About the Winery

Villa Maria

Villa Maria is New Zealand’s most popular and most awarded winery today. George Fistonich was only 21 years old when he started this wine label. He got 5 acres of land in Mangere, Auckland, from his father, and set about to give wings to his winemaking passion. The very next year, he made his first wine from the grapes planted on this land, and he named the wine, Villa Maria.
