Gabriëlskloof Walker Bay Cabernet Franc is a deep ruby-red wine with an aroma of dark fruit, including blackcurrant and ripe plum. True to its calling, this wine has a medium to full body with well-structured tannins that add just enough weight to the palate to balance out the fruit and spice elements. On the palate, the Cabernet Franc's richness is complemented by a savoury edge that adds to its complexity, contributing to the wine's exceptional overall balance. While it is incredibly satisfying on its own, this wine would pair well with roasted vegetables, seasoned meats, and grilled dishes.

About the Winery

The wines of South Africa are known for their unique nature that reflect the spirit of the terroir and the character of their region where the fruit is cultivated. Gabrielskloof wines are no different. It was during 2001 that Bernard Heyns zeroed in on a farm, Avonturr, located on the outskirts of Botrivier, to realise his aim of creating wines that reflected that richness of their terroir.
