Product Notes

Gabriëlskloof Syrah on Sandstone is a deep and complex wine that perfectly captures the essence of the South African terroir. With a deep ruby red colour in the glass, this wine offers a bouquet of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate, and subtle spice aromas. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with a delicate balance of tannins and acidity. The flavours are intense with notes of blackberry, cassis, and black pepper, with a long and rounded finish that leaves a hint of sweet oak. This Syrah is crafted using traditional methods and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, adding depth and complexity to an already outstanding wine. Enjoy now or cellar for years to come.

About the Winery

Gabriëlskloof

The wines of South Africa are known for their unique nature that reflect the spirit of the terroir and the character of their region where the fruit is cultivated. Gabrielskloof wines are no different. It was during 2001 that Bernard Heyns zeroed in on a farm, Avonturr, located on the outskirts of Botrivier, to realise his aim of creating wines that reflected that richness of their terroir.
