Characters of ripe citrus, melon and peach with great minerality, rounded out by well-judged oaking. A very complex wine with a long and creamy finish and a good acid backbone.

Product Notes

Rustenberg Five Soldiers Chardonnay is a premium wine produced in Stellenbosch, South Africa. It is carefully crafted from the best selection of Chardonnay grapes, grown on the estate's oldest and highest vineyards, which contribute to the wine's unique character. The wine is rich and complex, displaying notes of citrus, honeydew melon, and a hint of oak. Its mouthfeel is full and creamy, balanced with a refreshing acidity that lingers on the finish. It is named Five Soldiers after a row of five oak trees on the estate that were planted to memorialize five soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. This wine is a must-try for Chardonnay lovers seeking a premium flavor experience.

About the Winery

Rustenberg

The history of Rustenberg dates back to 1682. At that time, Roelof Pasman of Meurs recognised the potential of grapevine cultivation and wine production the place held. By 1781, he saw to it that about 3000 wine cases got created at the farm. The rate doubled as the century progressed towards its end. It compelled the winery to build a cellar. The produced wines have been bottled here for a continuous period ever since 1892.
