Tasting Note

This is a mineral-driven style of Chardonnay, showcasing complex aromas of brioche, gun-smoke and ripe lemon rind that are distinctive from the stony Taylors Pass Vineyard. This elegant Chardonnay expresses flavours of grapefruit, fig, quince and roasted almonds with a restrained and focused acidity on the finish.

Product Notes

Villa Maria Single Vineyard Taylors Pass Chardonnay is a luxurious and elegant wine that showcases the best of New Zealand's Marlborough region. This Chardonnay is sourced from a single vineyard, allowing for a true expression of terroir and individuality. The wine opens with enticing aromas of ripe peach, citrus zest, and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is rich and complex, with flavors of tropical fruit, creamy butterscotch, and a hint of minerality. The finish is long and lingering, leaving the palate refreshed and satisfied. This Chardonnay is perfect for special occasions or quiet nights at home.

About the Winery

Villa Maria

Villa Maria is New Zealand’s most popular and most awarded winery today. George Fistonich was only 21 years old when he started this wine label. He got 5 acres of land in Mangere, Auckland, from his father, and set about to give wings to his winemaking passion. The very next year, he made his first wine from the grapes planted on this land, and he named the wine, Villa Maria.
