Tasting Note

A superb Pinot Nero, whose concentration is clearly heralded by its dark ruby colour. Initially it seems somewhat closed on the nose, but then opens up in the glass to reveal its authentic, noble Pinot Nero origins. The aroma reminiscent of sour cherry and raspberry is enhanced by a delicate hint of vanilla and spice. On the palate it shows excellent harmony with elegant acidity, well-integrated sweet tannins and enormous concentration of aromas.

Product Notes

Tenuta J. Hofstätter Barthenau Vigna S. Urbano Pinot Nero is a refined and elegant red wine that originates in the heart of Alto Adige in Northern Italy. Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this wine boasts a delicate profile with a bright ruby color and aromas of red berries and cherries. On the palate, flavors of dark fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, are complemented by hints of vanilla and spices, which combine with gentle tannins and a long and satisfying finish. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of dishes, as its refined flavor profile matches well with many cuisines.

About the Winery

Tenuta J. Hofstätter

J Hofstatter is a traditional, family-owned wine estate in the Alto Adige region of Italy, with its history dating back to 1907. During this year, Joseph Hofstatter (originally a locksmith), started a winery along with his wife, and began producing wines under this label. Over the years, the management of winery passed many hands. Today, this brand stands proudly as the only family-owned winery in this region to have vineyards on both sides of Adige River, carrying forward a rich legacy of winemaking.
