Tasting Note

Drappier Exception Millésime 2018 is a finely structured vintage Champagne that balances freshness with depth, showcasing the house’s hallmark precision. The nose opens with expressive aromas of ripe orchard fruits, citrus zest, and delicate white flowers, underpinned by subtle notes of toasted brioche and hazelnut from extended lees aging. On the palate, it is vibrant and elegant, with a lively mousse and a core of crisp apple, pear, and lemon curd, layered with hints of almond and spice. The finish is long, mineral-driven, and refined, reflecting both the excellent 2018 harvest and Drappier’s minimal intervention style.

About the Winery

Champagne Drappier

Champagne Drappier is one of the most respected family-owned Champagne houses, renowned for its independence, tradition, and innovative spirit. Founded in 1808 and based in Urville in the Côte des Bar, the estate is still managed by the Drappier family, with Michel Drappier and his children continuing the legacy as the eighth generation of winemakers. The family’s roots in viticulture, however, go back even further to the 17th century, when their ancestor, Rémy Drappier, cultivated vines in the same region.
