Tasting Note

A heady fragrance of peony and violets, red cherry and pomegranate, overlaid with a smoky, earthy savouriness. The character reflects the perfume and delicacy of the vintage, whilst retaining its innate muscular tannin structure that ensures it will age very well. The palate shows great intensity, complexity and structure.

Blank Canvas Escaroth Marlborough Pinot Noir is a delicious and complex red wine with intense fruit flavors and a silky smooth tannic structure. Crafted from the finest grapes grown in the Marlborough region of New Zealand, this Pinot Noir is a true representation of the terroir. The nose is filled with aromas of red cherries, plums, and strawberries, backed by hints of vanilla and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with a lovely balance of acidity and tannins, leading to a long and satisfying finish. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, game, and robust tomato-based sauces.

About the Winery

Blank Canvas

Matt Thomson and his partner, Sophie Parker-Thomson created their New Zealand based Blank Canvas premium wine label from fruits sourced from different vineyards. Both of them, with their immense winemaking experience and expertise in the Marlborough Wine region of New Zealand, went on to establish their own name to add some creativity and character to the classic wines. That the wines created by the Blank Canvas Brand are exquisite is no surprise because Matt Thomson is a highly respected winemaker and wine consultant in New Zealand.
