Tasting Note

This Pinot Noir expresses black fruits like boysenberries and blueberries with subtle floral notes and gentle acidity. The cocoa powder tannins and smoky toasty notes add complexity with a generous earthy textural finish.

Product Notes

Villa Maria's EarthGarden Pinot Noir is a sumptuously smooth and luscious red wine that comes from their sustainably farmed vineyards in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. It boasts a beautiful deep ruby red color, with intense aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, and hints of spicy oak. The flavors are complex and well-balanced, with notes of forest berries, plum, and subtle earthy undertones. The finish is long and velvety, leaving a pleasant sensory experience to the palate. This Pinot Noir pairs perfectly with grilled salmon, lamb, or creamy pasta dishes. It's a delicious and sustainable option for wine lovers looking for a quality New Zealand wine.

About the Winery

Villa Maria

Villa Maria is New Zealand’s most popular and most awarded winery today. George Fistonich was only 21 years old when he started this wine label. He got 5 acres of land in Mangere, Auckland, from his father, and set about to give wings to his winemaking passion. The very next year, he made his first wine from the grapes planted on this land, and he named the wine, Villa Maria.
