Tasting Note

Deep crimson purple in colour, a cascade of wild berries - boysenberry, blackberry and blueberry - accompany aromas of black forest cake framed with Indian spices. Rich and ripe, the Y Series Shiraz is a glorious mouthful of South Australia with layers of ripe blackberries and Christmas cake. This is surrounded by soft, juicy, fully ripe tannins.

Product Notes

Yalumba Y Series Shiraz is a vibrant and full-bodied wine that perfectly captures the essence of Shiraz. With fruit sourced from vineyards in South Australia, this wine showcases ripe blackberry and plum flavors with a hint of peppery spice, creating a complex and rich palate. The nose is intense with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of mocha. Yalumba Y Series Shiraz has firm tannins, which provide structure and length to the wine's finish. This wine is perfect to accompany grilled meats, BBQ, and hearty stews. It is an excellent example of the quality that can be found in Australian Shiraz.

About the Winery

Yalumba

Yalumba is a rich and ancient Australian wine label founded in 1849. This is a family-owned winery that showcases the richness of the Barossa Valley terroirs through its wines. Samuel Smith, the founder of Yalumba, understood the Barossa valley's potential, as soon as he set foot here. While planting the first vines here, he had the utmost respect for the land, and six generations later, Yalumba wines are still produced with a lot of respect for the region's terroirs.
