Tasting Note

Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino is ruby red in colour. The nose presents a complex bouquet of cherries, black cherries and blood oranges that follows over to notes of violets, vanilla, and light balsamic aromas. The palate is fresh, savoury with silky, elegant tannins. The long, persistent finish is defined by notes of citrus fruit, delicate spicy aromas and hints of vanilla.

Product Notes

Antinori Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino is a renowned wine from the picturesque town of Montalcino in Tuscany, Italy. It is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes grown in the Pian delle Vigne vineyard, which has a unique microclimate that produces high-quality grapes. This wine has been aged for three years in oak barrels, resulting in a complex and full-bodied flavor with hints of black cherry, tobacco, and forest floor. Its tannins are smooth and well-integrated, creating a harmonious balance between fruit and acidity. This wine pairs well with meat dishes and is an excellent accompaniment to hearty meals. Its long finish and exceptional quality make it a must-try for any wine enthusiast.

About the Winery

Antinori Pian delle Vigne

Pian delle Vigne is a company under the ownership of the Antinori family since 1995, comprising 184 hectares, out of which 65 are vineyards. The Antinori family had been in winemaking for over six hundred years. The first member of the Antinori family to enter the winemaking business was Giovanni di Piero Antinori, who became involved in the Florentine Art of the Vinattieri in 1385. 1995 was also the year when the first Brunello Pian delle Vigne harvest took place. Tenuta Pian delle Vigne is located six kilometres from Montalcino. It owes its name to a locality of the same name, which also has a 19th century railway station. It represents Marquises Antinori's interpretation of traditional wine like Brunello.
