Product Notes

Antinori Tenuta Guado Al Tasso Guado al Tasso Superiore is a premium Tuscan red wine known for its richness, depth, and complexity. This wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, grown in the Guado al Tasso vineyard located in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy. The vineyard is well-known for its ideal location, featuring a unique microclimate, and favorable soil conditions, allowing the grapes to fully express their distinctive character.

The wine has a dark ruby color, with a complex bouquet of dark fruit, vanilla, and spice. The taste is rich, with intense fruit flavors of blackberry, plum, and currant, combined with hints of cocoa and tobacco. The wine has a long, smooth finish, with a fine balance between acidity, tannin, and fruit, making it a perfect match for rich meat dishes or hard cheeses. Overall, Antinori Tenuta Guado Al Tasso Guado al Tasso Superiore is a classic example of the great Tuscan wines, displaying an impressive balance between power and elegance.

Tasting Notes

Guado al Tasso 2018 is an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with captivating notes of sweet spices and small dark ripe fruit, licorice root, leather and tobacco. On the palate the tannins are graceful: silky on entry and vibrant on the finish. Guado al Tasso 2018 is harmonious with excellent balance and pleasantness, it’s most certainly less powerful than the 2017 vintage, but perhaps for this reason is more refined and elegant.

About the Winery

Antinori Tenuta Guado Al Tasso

The Antinori family is one of the most authentic and historical names of the Italian wine industry. This family has been making elegant and heritage-rich wines for over six centuries now. Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the Florentine Winemakers’ Guild in 1385, and his family has been making beautiful wines, since then. Today, though the estate is managed by the 26th generation Antinori family member, you will be thrilled to notice that the historic winemaking practices are carried on with full respect and passion here.

The details of the family vineyards are as follows:

Tenuta Tignanello – 130 hectares are under the vine here. You can find two of the finest parcels of vineyards, Tignanello and Solaia here. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc, and small lots of Malvasia & Trebbiano are grown here.

Badia A Passignano – 65 hectares are under the vine here. Vineyards are located at a height of 250 to 350m above sea level with Sangiovese vines, mostly.

Peppoli – 50 hectares are under the vine here. You can find big parcels of Sangiovese vines and small lots of Merlot, Syrah and Malvasia in this microclimate-filled region.

Antinori in the Chianti Classico – A new and sophisticated winery, constructed using the local materials, was established in this estate during 2012. Apart from Sangiovese, small parcels of indigenous grapes, such as Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera and Mammolo are found here.

Pian Delle Vigne - 65 hectares are under the vine here. A traditional wine, Brunello di Montalcino, has its origins from here.

Guado Al Tasso Estate – Located in Bolgheri DOC, this vineyard is home to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Vermentino, Nero and Bianco vines.
