Lovely mid-depth colour with purple tints. Lifted red fruit and earthy notes on the nose. Ripe fruit and low oak impact on the palate, with the new oak providing a slight vanillin sweetness that compliments the berry fruit. The ripe fruit tannins are complemented by the natural fruit acidity, resulting in a very long finish for the wine. A stylistically typical medium-bodied Hunter Valley Shiraz from a very good year.

Grown in the Hunter Valley, this Shiraz is an excellent representation of the region's classic style, with dark fruit flavours, peppery notes and a subtle oak influence. The wine is sourced from vineyards that are carefully selected for their unique terroir and the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months to give it depth and complexity. The result is a full-bodied wine with a smooth, velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. Brokenwood Hunter Valley Shiraz is the perfect wine to pair with hearty meat dishes and strong cheeses, making it a favourite among wine enthusiasts everywhere.

About the Winery

Considered as one of the best wines crafted from Australia, Brokenwood Wines is a premium wine brand that was established in 1970. Due to its popularity, today, it is one of the must-visit places in Hunter Valley. It was between 1970 and 1972 that three Sydney solicitors, Tony Albert, John Beeston and James Halliday, formed the Brokenwood Wines brand. They first planted their vines in a 10-acre plot located at the backdrop of the Brokenback Ranges.
