Tasting Note

Rich, ripe nose, almost perfumed wine with a delicious creamy character on the palate and bags of soft ripe blackcurrant fruit. The acidity is all there, balanced against soft, full tannins and there is great structure and mouthfeel. Succulent, round and complex.

Product Notes

Cantina Santadi Carignano del Sulcis Riserva Rocca Rubia is a wine made from Carignano grapes grown in Sulcis, a wild and rugged region on the southwestern coast of Sardinia. The wine has a deep ruby color and rich aroma of dark fruit, spices, and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with intense flavors of blackberries, cherries, chocolate, and hints of smokiness. The tannins are firm, but smooth, giving the wine a complex and well-structured finish. This Riserva Rocca Rubia is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, which adds an extra layer of complexity and depth to the wine. Overall, it is a bold and impressive wine that is perfect for pairing with hearty meat dishes or cheese platters.

About the Winery

Cantina Santadi

In the year 1960, a group of local grape growers got together to establish a winery known as the Cantina Santadi right in the heart of Sulcis district. The grape growers started doing cooperative winemaking business here. Until the 1980s, the main job of this winery was to produce bulk wine and sell the same to the world.
