Tasting Note

The Chamonix Troika has a deep ruby-mulberry colour on release, with scents that recall vanilla, sweet ripe cherries, blackberries and other spices. The wine is well structured; full, round and smooth on the palate with rich fruit and berry sensations, fine harmony and length of flavour. Although impressive when young, it should reach a prime at 10-15 years

Product Notes

Chamonix Troika Reserve is a premium red wine that hails from the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa. This wine is made with a blend of three classic Bordeaux varietals - cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot - all of which are grown on the estate’s mountainous vineyards. The grapes are handpicked and sorted before undergoing fermentation in French oak barrels, where they are aged for 18 months. The result is a rich, full-bodied wine with complex aromas of black fruit, vanilla and spice. On the palate, the wine is silky smooth with flavours of dark chocolate, plum and blackcurrant. Chamonix Troika Reserve is a wine that celebrates the art of blending and is an excellent addition to any cellar.

Chamonix

The historical Huguenot Estate, which goes back to 1688, previously included the Cape Chamonix Wine Farm. Chamonix has sprung into the international wine scene during the past 20 years as a well-respected winery in its own right, now operating under the guidance of German-born businessman Chris Hellinger. Under his leadership, the estate has experienced significant development and now provides tourists with a wide range of dining and entertainment options in breathtaking settings.
