Tasting Note

This offers a glorious bouquet of heady black fruit, crème de mûre, scorched earth and graphite. Although the palate is dense and packed with black cherry, stony minerals, hedgerow fruit and liquorice, it is so fresh and bright. The tannins are beautifully managed; they stain the palate with savoury infused cassis and notes of kirsch.

Product Notes

Château Lafleur-Gazin is an exceptional Pomerol wine estate located in the heart of the appellation. This vineyard covers an area of 10.5 hectares and produces a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet France (20%) grapes, with extremely low yields that creates a complex and rich wine. The château derives its name from the gravelly and sandy soils, which are ideal for grape growing. The winery is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, producing a smooth, elegant, and well-balanced wine with notes of black fruit, cedar, and spice. The wine's aging process takes place in French oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, enhancing its aromas and flavors. This wine is considered one of the most exceptional wines in Pomerol, with an incredible aging potential, making it a must-try among wine enthusiasts.

About the Winery

Château Lafleur-Gazin

Château Lafleur-Gazin is an exceedingly reputed winery in Pomerol, a famous AOC and wine region or commune in France. The winery’s history starts ambiguous, with suggestive traces and evidence that the wine estate remained under the ownership and management of the Borderie family in the 20th century. It continued to do so for almost three generations before Maurice Borderie passed down the property to Madame Defour-Borderie, his daughter. In 2020, the wine estate and property of Château Lafleur-Gazin came under the ownership and administration of Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix. Nevertheless, the winery’s operations continued to run or function under the Moueix team well before that, since 1976.
