Clos des Fous Tocao is a bold and complex red wine from the Maule Valley region of Chile. Made with a blend of 60% Carignan, 20% Carmenere, and 20% Syrah grapes, this wine boasts a deep ruby-red color and a rich, full-bodied flavor profile. Aromas of dark fruit, spice, and earthy undertones greet the nose, while on the palate, flavors of blackberry, tobacco, and leather dominate. The tannins are firm, yet well-integrated, and the acidity provides a lovely balance and structure. This wine is an excellent example of the unique terroir of the Maule Valley and will pair well with a variety of hearty dishes.

About the Winery

Till the year 2008, wines from Chile were generally given the descriptions of boring and industrial. To change this stereotype about Chilean wines and to make these reflect the true heritage of the exotic Chilean terroirs, the Clos des Fous wine label was established in the year 2008. Pedro Parra, Francois Massoc, Paco Leyton and Albert Cussen, the four friends, took it upon themselves to change the world’s opinion about Chilean wines through their new label.
