  • Cos Frappato, vibrant, strawberry, clean and juicy, Natural Sicilian red wine. Frappato has a warm ruby colour, not especially dense but bright and truly red, without blue or purple tones, even though it is still a young wine. The aromas are charming: fragrant wild strawberries and hint of candied orange peel and light spice, maybe cinnamon. The polished texture is silky but definite, with a fine balance of clear fruit and structure (tannins and acidity) to give it depth and length.. It is unoaked, complex and layered, juicy but not simple.
  • The Sicilian wine brand of Cos Wines was launched in 1980 by three expert winemakers – Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti and Cirino Strano. The name, Cos, is the acronym of the first letters of their surnames. Every bottle of wine created by COS Wines is a true representation of the culture and tradition that the company stands for. Let’s take a look at 11 of their popular wines here:

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG - This wine is produced from grapes grown in Vittoria, in the south eastern part of Italy. This wine is made from 60% Nero d’ Avola and 40% Frappato di Vittoria variety of grapes that are grown organically.

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico delle Fontane DOCG - Here also, the percentage of grapes used for making wine is the same as the above. However, apart from Vittoria, grapes are also grown in the Italian region of Fontane, for this wine.

Frappato IGP - This wine is made from 100% Frappato di Vittoria grape variety only and nothing else. Organically grown grapes in the Vittoria region are used to make this wine.

Maldafrica IGP - This wine is made with an equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. It uses only organically grown grapes in Fontane and Vittoria.

Nero di Lupo - This wine is made from 100% Nero d’ Avola grapes only and nothing else. This variety is grown naturally in the Vittoria region.

Pithos Rosso DOC - 60% Nero d’ Avola and 40% Frappato di Vittoria variety of grapes are used for making this wine.

Pithos Bianco DOC - This wine is made from 100% Grecanico variety of grapes that are grown in Vittoria and Fontane.

Zibibbo in Pithos - This wine is made from 100% Zibibbo variety of grapes grown in the Marsala area.

Rami IGP - An equal blend of Grecanico and Insolia varieties of grapes are used here.

Contrada IGP - This is made from 100% Nero d’ Avola grape variety only.

Aestas Siciliae - This is made from 100% Moscato variety of grape only.
