Tasting Note

This garnet-colored wine stands out on the nose for its touches of ripe black fruit, such as plum and cherry, continuing with red paprika, saline notes, leather and wood. On the palate it has a soft and sweet entry, with silky tannins and hints of tobacco. It has a medium acidity that provides freshness thanks to the Syrah it contains, and has a long and persistent finish.

Product Notes

Cousiño Macul Finis Terrae Red is a premium wine, carefully crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot grapes. The wine originates from the renowned Maipo Valley in Chile, which is known for producing some of the world's best grapes. It is aged in oak barrels for 18 months, giving it a rich and complex flavor profile that is characterized by notes of blackberry, vanilla, and blueberry. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and smooth, with soft tannins and a long finish. This wine is perfect for pairing with red meat, stews, and cheese.

About the Winery

Cousiño Macul

Cousiño Macul’s history dates back to 1760. However, it was not until the winery’s founder Luis Cousiño obtained the 1000-hectare land of Hacienda Macul in Chile in 1856 that its original tale began. Since then, his winemaking legacy started to acquire a fundamental shape. It gradually grew to the state it is today. In recent times, Cousiño Macul is the only winery with a 19th-century origin that remains under the possession of its founding family.
