The 2021 Syrah Winds of Change is fabulous. Silky and perfumed, this mid-weight Syrah is compelling right out of the glass. Scents of lavender, spice, mint and licorice open first, followed by a burst of blue/purplish Syrah fruit. Deceptive in its mid-weight feel, the 2021 is bursting with flavour and freshness. Desire Lines Wine Co. is a boutique winery founded by winemaker Cody Rasmussen and his wife, Emily Rasmussen, in 2016. Based in Sonoma County, California, the winery is renowned for crafting expressive, site-driven wines that highlight unique vineyard sites across California. Cody honed his winemaking skills at Bedrock Wine Co., where he worked alongside renowned winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson, gaining invaluable experience with old-vine vineyards and minimalist winemaking techniques. Emily, with a background in the wine industry, also contributed to the team at Bedrock Wine Co., where she shared Cody’s passion for crafting thoughtful and authentic wines.
