Tasting Note

The nose shows dense autumn fruit and fynbos edge, paired with a palate of succulent plum, crushed blackberry and dry fig. The complexity of the classic grape cultivars allow for intricate flavours of pine-needle and graphite to join the fruit in an interwoven whole. Tannins are plush and beguiling, yet muscular and firm, ensuring life-affirming freshness in structure.

Product Notes

Alto Rouge is a rich and robust red wine that originates from the prestigious South African winery, Alto Estate. This deep, dark ruby red blend is a harmonious combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot grapes, resulting in a complex and layered flavor profile. The nose is filled with enticing aromas of ripe dark fruits, vanilla, and oak spices. On the palate, the wine offers bold flavors of blackberry, plum, and dark chocolate, with a hint of smokiness and a velvety smooth finish. Alto Rouge is a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, hearty stews, and sharp cheeses, making it a versatile and enjoyable wine for any occasion.
