Tasting Note

The Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico captures the fruit of the Sangiovese grapes and the earthy, spicy and slightly wild traces of the soil in a beautiful blend. It is an unusually concentrated Chianti Classico, that will invariably benefit from age.

Product Notes

Castell’ in Villa Chianti Classico is an intense and refined red wine carefully crafted from a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Its ruby red color is accompanied by rich aromas of red fruits, spices and tobacco, leading to complex and persistent flavors of cherry, blackberry, leather and vanilla with velvety tannins and a long finish. This wine is sourced from high altitude vineyards in the heart of Chianti Classico, Italy, where the soil is rich in limestone and clay and the climate provides a perfect balance of warm days and cool nights. It pairs perfectly with grilled meats, pasta dishes and strong cheese.

About the Winery

Castell`in Villa

Castell'in Villa is an 11th-century hamlet that was part of the community in the Sienese district. The medieval stone tower found in Castell'in Villa was the home of Princess Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa. The medieval chapel located close to the central tower allows the visitor to glimpse the medieval structure and the art it houses. The art in the Castell includes a 12th-century bronze crucifix, temporarily held in the Castelnuovo Berardenga, that dates back to the mid-12th century.
