Tasting Note

Deep gold in colour with amber glints. Delicate froth, lively and lingering. The first nose reveals vine blossom, linden and fresh, lightly toasted bread. After breathing, aromas of summer berries, citrus fruit and honey develop. Fine vinous attack on the palate, fruity (redcurrant, raspberry, ripe grape) and fullbodied, generous and long. Light notes of biscuit and freshly baked bread on the finish.

Product Notes

Champagne Philipponnat Royale Réserve Brut is a luminous and elegant champagne with a rich heritage dating back to 1522. It is a blend of the three Champagne grape varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, harvested from exceptional terroirs, such as Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and their own estate vineyard of Les Moines. Royale Réserve Brut is aged for a minimum of three years in the Philipponnat cellars before release, giving it a rich and complex flavor profile that is complemented by a refined and persistent mousse. The champagne has a golden hue, with aromas of ripe fruit, brioche, and honey, leading to a long and decadent finish.

About the Winery

Champagne Philipponnat

The story and history of Champagne Philipponnat began almost 500 years ago when the Philipponnat family left their traces on the soils and lands of France’s historical province and wine region of Champagne. Generations of the family had played their roles and cultivated the plots of the former commune of Ay. It had remained the family’s home since Apvril le Philipponnat owned the vineyards between Dizy and Ay, in Le Léon, in 1522.
