Tasting Note

The wine's aroma, delivered on a delicate mousse, hints at wild strawberry, ripe peach, apricot, pomegranate, honeysuckle and exotic spices. Despite its color, it is a true Brut - as dry as our other wines. And while Domaine Carneros Brut Rosé is enjoyable at a young age, it will also gain wonderful complexity with aging

Product Notes

Domaine Carneros Rosé Cuvée de la Pompadour is a stunning, dry rosé made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. Named after Madame de Pompadour, the mistress of King Louis XV of France and a noted patron of the arts, this wine reflects the opulence and sophistication of the French court. Its beautiful salmon-pink color is matched by delicate aromas of red cherry, strawberry, and rose petals. On the palate, fruity flavors of raspberry, peach, and watermelon are balanced by refreshing acidity and a subtle minerality. This wine is ideal for sipping on a warm summer day or pairing with seafood, salads, or spicy cuisines.

About the Winery

Domaine Carneros

The family that founded Champagne Taittinger wanted a partner in the USA to carry on its legacy. Claude Taittinger's search for his US partner started in the late 1970s. By the late 1980s,  he knew he had made the right choice when he spotted the 138-acre vineyard in one of the premium wine-producing regions in the USA, Napa Valley. Located in Carneros, this small parcel is owned by Eileen Crane, who is considered the doyenne of sparkling wine of America.
