Tasting Note

Intense aromas of red and black fruit characterise the nose with subtle hints of mint, violet and blackcurrant leaf. The palate displays finely structured tannins and a core of layered black fruit and spices which linger on the long finish.

Product Notes

Domaine de la Bégude Bandol Rouge is a rich and intense red wine that comes from the hilly vineyards of the Bandol region in southern France. The wine is made from a blend of mostly Mourvèdre grapes, with some Grenache and Cinsault. It has a deep ruby color and complex aromas of blackberry, black cherry, leather, and spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and flavors of dark fruit, herbs, and earth. The wine is aged for 14 months in oak barrels, which gives it a subtle smokiness and a long, savory finish. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, stews, and hearty dishes.

About the Winery

Domaine de la Bégude

Originally founded in 1996 by two brothers, Louis and Guillaume Tari, however, in September 2022, the Roulleau family purchased Domaine de La Bégude and named Laurent Fortin as General Manager, becoming the fifth generation to hold ownership of the wine land since the Middle Ages. Laurent Fortin wants to maintain a creative attitude to present his idea of wine in the centre of this vineyard. Long ago, the place served as a rest station for travellers travelling, offering lodging, meals, and the Rustic beverage "begun." In the coming years, the staff at Domaine de La Bégude plans to grow the vineyard to 50 hectares and more.
